Road Safety - Campaigns

Thousands of people are injured or killed on Britain’s roads every year. Yet only the most tragic of circumstances make it into the newspapers and television reports. In fact, little coverage is given to the many lives lost in road traffic collisions every day.

Road Safety publicity campaigns aim to educate road users in an attempt to prevent these incidents from occurring - so that deaths and serious injuries from road traffic collisions no longer have to make the headlines.

Road safety publicity is one of the major tools in reducing casualties on our roads. Blackpool Council uses publicity to promote understanding of the need for better road safety behaviour and to encourage and reinforce attitudes that can ultimately lead to safer and more considerate behaviour by road users.
