Junior Road Safety Officers

Junior Road Safety Officers The Travel & Road Safety Team have launched another Junior Road Safety Officer Scheme in Blackpool. The JRSO's will be representing the team and delivering road safety messages in school.

The JRSO’s will be helping the Travel & Road Safety team promote road safety in schools and the local community. Their responsibilities will range from producing eye catching notice boards, running competitions and talking in assemblies to promote road safety messages. On-the-job training is all part of the role and the JRSO’s will learn a lot about road safety topics over the year, including Be Safe Be Seen, the wearing of seatbelts and organising walks to school.

Road Safety Officers from the Travel & Road Safety Team will also be available to help the JRSO’s with problem areas outside their schools including speed checks with the police. The scheme has proved extremely popular with schools and teachers alike over the previous years and the Travel & Road Safety Team will be putting in every effort to make this one just as successful.

If you would like some more information on how the Junior Road Safety Officer scheme is run please contact the Travel & Road Safety Team on 01253 476107 or roadsafety@blackpool.gov.uk
