ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS FOR 2010/2011
Following a wide consultation on admission arrangements for 2010/2011 all admission policies for Blackpool schools have now been determined and can be accessed in Publications. Any further information on the Blackpool Admissions Policy for Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools should be addressed to:
Fran Fothergill, School Admissions Manager, Children and Young People's Department, Progress House, Clifton Road, Blackpool, FY4 4US.
Voluntary Aided Schools and Trust Schools are responsible for determining their own admission arrangements and are also required to publish their admission policies and arrangements.
The Children's Services Directorate has undertaken to publish these policies on their behalf.
Individual VA and Trust Policies can be seen in Appendix 6 of the Policy document.
Further information on any Blackpool Voluntary Aided or Trust School Policy can be obtained from the relevant school.
These policies may also be available on individual school's websites.
In accordance with the provisions of The Schools Admissions (Alteration and Variation of, and Objections to, Arrangements) (England) Regulations 2007 (SI 2007/496), parents may refer an objection to these arrangements to the Schools Adjudicator.
If your child is aged between two and sixteen and you have been or will be eligible to apply to a Blackpool school, whose arrangements are the subject of objection, you may object if you believe that any arrangements are unlawful or fail to comply with the mandatory requirements of the School Admissions Code.
Any objection should be sent to the Schools Adjudicator. Objections must be by 31 July 2009. The contact address is: Office of the Schools Adjudicator, Mowden Hall, Staindrop Road, Darlington, DL3 9BG.
