Applying for Primary and Secondary School Places

The In Year Admission Form must be completed for all children arriving in Blackpool or transferring between schools.  Once returned to the School Admissions Team, an allocation will be made.

Go to the Forms section in related information to access the form and guidance notes.  School brochures can be viewed in Publications.

APPLYING FOR A PLACE IN RECEPTION AT PRIMARY SCHOOL AND/OR YEAR 7 AT SECONDARY SCHOOL SEPTEMBER 2011

Primary and Secondary School Brochures can be viewed in Publications.  You should read the appropriate  brochure before completing your application as it gives you information on the schools in Blackpool, how to apply for a place, what criteria will be used to allocate places and what to do if your preferences cannot be met.

The closing date for SECONDARY SCHOOL is SUNDAY 31ST OCTOBER 2010
The closing date for PRIMARY SCHOOL is  SATURDAY 15TH JANUARY 2011

WHY SHOULD YOU APPLY ON-LINE?
Some of the benefits of applying on-line are: · It’s quick and easy to use. · There is no risk that your application will be lost in the post. · You will receive an e-mail confirming that your application has been received. · You can change your application up to the closing date.

When can you use the on-line system?
This system will be available virtually 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There may be periods of time during the early hours of the morning that the system is closed due to technical reasons. You will be able to apply on-line from 6th September 2010 until midnight on the closing date of SUNDAY 31ST OCTOBER 2010 for a place in Year 7 and SATURDAY 15TH JANUARY 2011 for a Reception place.

Brochures and common application forms will be available from Primary Schools or the School Admissions Team from Thursday 9th September 2010.  The application form can be printed off from this site.  It is in "Forms", see related information on the right.  It cannot be completed electronically.
