What is PSAM Panel?
The PSAM Panel is the Panel for Statutory Assessment and Moderation which meets monthly to decide whether or not to undertake a Statutory Assessment of a child’s needs.
The Panel interrogates a wide range of evidence and expertise to make sure a fair decision is reached.
The Panel includes the Statutory Assessment Manager (Chair); SEN (Special Educational Needs)Officers; Principal Educational Psychologist; Manager of Specialist Advisory Services; Secondary head teacher; Primary head teacher; Secondary SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) and Primary SENCO.
The Panel responds to such requests immediately after the panel has sat.
