What is the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice?
The Code of Practice is a guidance document from the Department of Education and Skills which gives schools and the Local Authority clear guidelines on how to identify and assess children’s special educational needs and what to do about them.
This will involve everyone who works within or is involved with SEN, including:
- Local Authority Officers
- Schools
- Parents
- Health Authority
- Social Services
- Independent/voluntary groups.
