Who can ask for a Statutory Assessment and provide help through the process?

Schools normally request a statutory assessment with the full cooperation of the child’s parents. Such requests can also be made by agencies such as the Health Service or Social Services.

Parents can also ask for a statutory assessment.

Blackpool Council makes a Parent Support Officer available as well as giving access to an independent Parent Partnership Officer. The Statutory Assessment Team Officers and caseworkers also help to guide parents through the process of asking for a Statutory Assessment.
