Why are speed cameras installed on some roads?
In Blackpool where the speed limit on the majority of roads is 30 miles per hour, there are 49 fixed camera sites and several locations for mobile speed enforcement units.
These are in place where a number of road traffic accidents have occurred in the past and at locations where local people have concerns about speed.
