Strategic Asset Management

Strategic Asset Management Blackpool has an exciting vision for transforming the town, Services and regeneration plans, with asset management planning seen as a vital element in its realisation. Our aim is to provide the population of Blackpool with a Portfolio that is safe and secure, suitable, sufficient, sustainable and appropriately maintained which is flexible for the delivery of modern services and is used to support the major regeneration ambitions of the Town.

Property is now seen within Blackpool as a corporate resource; consultation now underpins corporate working and strategic direction, which ensures the most appropriate use of the assets to deliver the required sustainable social, environmental and economic outcomes.

The Asset, Energy and Estate Management Division consists of three integrated units: Building Surveyors, Energy Professionals and Estate & Development Surveyors. They provide the expertise to deliver Asset Management planning on a corporate basis within Blackpool Council, maintaining the Corporate Asset Management Plan and Capital Investment Strategy.

We have a comprehensive Corporate Asset Management and Capital Investment Strategy which sets out how the Council intend to develop the Portfolio to meet our priorities and service needs. It is regularly reviewed in the light of developments and key property issues. It sets out the aims and objectives to achieve improvements and address key issues.

The 2008/09 Corporate Asset Management Plan has made a continued commitment to the organisational-wide approach and management of its asset to support the Community and Council goals. The Corporate Asset Management and Capital Investment Strategy reflects and identifies the links between asset management planning and other corporate and community plans.
