Student Support Team

Student Support Team We are a multi disciplinary service that works alongside, and supports Blackpool schools by removing the barriers to children and young people achieving and reaching their potential. The external support, guidance and intervention given to students will help to:

  • Improve their welfare
  • Improve their attendance
  • Increase engagement
  • Improve their educational attainment and,
  • Prevent the family from being in receipt of statutory intervention.
The team is made up of a range of multi-disciplinary professionals including:

  • Pupil Welfare Officers
  • Police Community Support Officers
  • Youth Workers
  • Careers Advisers
  • Health Workers
  • Social Workers
  • Family School Liaison Workers
Each school in Blackpool has a named 'Link Worker' who identifies and ensures that the relevant professional in our team is available to provide the support and advice.
