How do I licence a one off event?
If the proposed event includes a licensable activity in premises which are not already in possession of a Premises Licence - for example a Village Hall - a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) will be required. A notice cannot be issued for events where more than 499 people are likely to attend, or where the event lasts more than 168 hours. In these circumstances, a full Premises Licence will be needed. Each TEN costs £21.
Personal Licence Holders can apply for up to 50 temporary events a year, and non-Personal Licence holders can apply for up to 5 temporary events a year. No premises may have more than 12 TENs per year. At least one copy of the TEN must be submitted to the Council, plus one to the Police and one to Blackpool Council's Environmental Protection Department at least 10 clear working days before an event can be held. A 'late' TEN can be given no later than 5 working days but no earlier than 9 working days before the event. Personal Licence holders are limited to 10 'late' TENs per calendar year, non Personal Licence holders are limited to 2 'late' TENs.
