Trading Standards

Please note: With effect from Monday 16th January 2012, Trading Standards will be moving to new offices at Progress House. Progress House is located next to the Clifton Retail Park on Clifton Road. From Monday 23rd January 2012, Blackpool residents are welcome to come in for face to face advice at Progress House or at Customer First in the Town Centre, where we have an advice surgery on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 and 1, and on Saturdays between 10 and 1. Our contact telephone and fax numbers remain the same.

The Trading Standards service plays an important role in ensuring a fair, safe and lawful trading environment for all Blackpool residents. We are responsible for enforcing a wide range of legislation aimed at protecting consumers, removing unsafe products and maintaining standards of fair trading. We also work to support and advise local businesses to ensure they are fully compliant with the law.

On these pages you will find information and advice about your consumer rights, including how to solve your problems, how to avoid trouble and where to find an approved trader in the Blackpool area.

If you are a business owner, you will also be able to find relevant and up to date information to benefit you and your business and help you keep the right side of the law. There is also information on how to join our Business Support Network. It is in our interests to ensure that businesses as well as consumers receive a fair deal.

If you are a Blackpool resident or business and require further information, please contact us on 01253 478375.

For those who live in other areas, please contact Consumer Direct on 08454 040506
