Transport - Information and Timetables

Transport - Information and Timetables Blackpool's fleet of Bombardier Flexity 2 trams came into operation in April 2012 and are now an established sea front feature, providing a state-of-the-art transport system connecting all of Blackpool's sea front attractions, hotels, Cleveleys, Fleetwood and all stops between. Give that system a go and experience the new trams' super-smooth and comfortable ride, level-access boarding and reduced journey times. If you do want to savour a nostalgic ride on the old trams, look for the special tram stops and take the heritage tour.

Blackpool Council works in partnership with local bus and train operators to provide the best possible bus and train network to cover the resort. The council wholly or part-funds some bus services including lines 3, 4, 10 and school bus services.

The majority of  bus services in Blackpool are operated by Blackpool Transport Services and Stagecoach North West.

Blackpool Transport also operates the tramway.

Services 75 and 76 are operated on behalf of Lancashire County Council. Additionally Oakwood Travel operate service 12 between Cabin and the Pleasure Beach. Service 22 runs between Mereside, Blackpool town centre and Cleveleys.

Northern Rail and First Transpennine Express operate train services to/from Blackpool North, Blackpool South and other local stations. Passengers can change trains easily at Preston for Virgin Trains and Transpennine Express services to Scotland, London, Birmingham and many other destinations.

PLUSBUS is a bus pass that is bought with a train ticket, giving unlimited bus travel around a train journey destination's entire urban area, including to and from the railway station. With a PLUSBUS ticket you can travel anywhere on most buses. Across Britain over 200 bus companies accept PLUSBUS tickets, which can also be used for tram travel in Birmingham, Nottingham, Sheffield & Wolverhampton.
