Why do we need travel plans?
Research shows that over 20% of peak time traffic on the road is due to the school run. Add to this the amount of traffic caused by people travelling to work and you can see the problems this causes.
A Business Travel Plan or a Education Travel Plan can also help to reduce problems with parking and help to make staff and students healthier and more active.
A number of Schools and businesses within Blackpool have produced Travel Plans and are already reaping the benefits. Some examples of Travel Plan initiatives follow:
