Community asset transfer expression of interest

This form is for groups wanting to express an interest in transferring a community asset into their ownership.

The information will be used to help the council make a decision, so it is important that you answer all the questions in the form as fully as possible, and provide additional information where asked.

Completing the form

You will not be able to save this form and will need to complete it in one go so please ensure you have all the information you require before starting to complete it. You will need:

  • The full name of the organisation, and the registered address
  • If your organisation is registered (with eg the Charity Commission), your registration number plus supporting documentation
  • Evidence, as an organisation, of
    • Good governance, management skills/experience within the management body
    • Your plans for sustainability
    • Experience of running services or activities
    • Your approach to diversity, community cohesion and reducing inequalities
    • Your approach to health and safety legislation and compliance with legislation and statutory requirements arising from ownership or management of the building service Your local connection(s)
    • How you plan to use the asset, including how you have consulted the local community about your plans
    • Details about the asset being nominated, including its name and address, and any further useful information such as Land Registry Title information

  • Part A - About the group making the nomination
  • Nominations can be submitted by voluntary and community groups. Relevant bodies should be:
  • - A legally constituted entity, with an appropriate structure such as a registered charity, a community enterprise company or social enterprise, a not-for-profit company or a co-operative
  • - Non-profit distributing
  • - Able to show community benefit objectives
