The Council is currently discussing a proposal that would mean Bispham High School and Collegiate High School would merge into one brand new school, opening in January 2014.

Last night Blackpool Council met with Governors from Bispham High School & Arts College and Collegiate High School.

The new school would be a sponsored academy and have a complete new build on the Collegiate site.

Staff, students, Governors and the local communities of both schools will be fully involved in all aspects of the planning of the new school

The new build is likely to open September 2015.

Blackpool Council would like to reassure everybody that the education and care of your child is the most important factor in this decision. It is our priority to offer the very best education and care to each and every child, both now and in the future, in an outstanding place of learning.

The Council will be writing to all parents who have applied for a place at either of the schools for September 2013 to explain the situation.
