The Met office has issued a warning to expect a drop in temperature this weekend and icy conditions.

Following this weather report Blackpool Council gritters will be on the roads this evening and possibly over the weekend to help prevent icy conditions. We urge drivers to take extra care, especially on hilly side roads.

All Council grit bins will be replenished with the likelihood of a repeat operation on Saturday evening from 18.00hrs.

Duty Officers will monitor the conditions over the weekend and adjust operations according to the latest weather briefs.
