Debt Advice

Debt Advice
Are you struggling to make ends meet?

Do you need help with your debts?

People in Blackpool can get free, independent help and advice with debt problems. Thousands of people each year get caught up in the spiral of debt - don't let it ruin your life.
Blackpool Council works with other organisations in the community to help you manage your debts.
Some of these organisations offer a structured approach to managing severe personal debt by maximising income through both in-and out-of-work benefits, providing budget advice, preparing a full debt repayment plan and talking to the people you owe money to.
There are several ways they can help you:-
  • With your permission, they can check your benefit entitlements and tax credits to make sure you are getting all the money you are entitled to.
  • Arrangements can be made for repayments on what you owe to be reduced.
  • You can be helped to regain control of your finances.
Our leaflet "Struggling to make ends meet" contains additional useful information and contact details for debt advice services.

Download and read our 'Taking Control of Your Money' guide, this provides simple advice and guidance on managing your money and budgeting.
