We’re working with Keep Britain Tidy, local residents and businesses along with visitors to reduce the amount of litter dropped in Blackpool.
Big Spring Clean 2019
This year be part of the Big Spring Clean: 22 March to 23 April 2019.
We are calling on you to help improve the environment on your doorstep. We’re working with Keep Britain Tidy to collect and safely dispose of litter from our streets, parks and beaches, recycling as much as possible.
The Big Spring Clean encourages and supports residents, schools, businesses and volunteers to organise their own litter pick events to help tidy the town and take part in others, bringing everyone together for a great cause.
Litter not only spoils Blackpool’s environment, but it also makes the town untidy and causes risk to our local wildlife.
Anyone can get involved, you can register to take part in litter-picking events via the Great British Spring Clean website. To take part locally in Blackpool keep an eye out on our social media platforms and the Keep Blackpool Tidy webpage for our event we will be hosting in Grange Park.
Remember: always put your litter in the bin and recycle where possible.
We've been busy lately as part of the Keep Blackpool Tidy campaign. Some of the things we've been doing:
- Adding more bins to the streets
- Introducing £80 litter fines
- Holding litter picking events
- Raising awareness to encourage more people to stop littering
How you can help – love where you live
Keeping our streets free from litter is everyone’s responsibility – the more people stop dropping litter, the cleaner our streets will be.
