Drugs and alcohol services for young people

Blackpool young peoples service

Blackpool Young Peoples Service (BYPS) provides a free and confidential substance misuse service for young people aged between 10 to 24 years.

Information advice and guidance is available on all substances including:

  • Alcohol
  • Tobacco
  • Solvents

Interventions range from drug awareness, harm reduction and access to prescribing services.

Young people accessing the service will be offered the opportunity to take part in an initial screening to identify other factors which may be contributing to, or impacted by their substance misuse and extended support offered to young people and their families if needed.

BYPS operates a duty system  so staff are available at our Market Street office Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm.

We also work closely with Connect, young person’s sexual health service and provide a drop in service Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between 1.00pm and 4.00pm at the Connect Young Persons Centre.
