Blackpool Clinical Commissioning Group (Blackpool CCG) represents 24 GP practises across the town and is responsible for commissioning (planning and purchasing) health services for the local population. Blackpool CCG also works closely with Fylde and Wyre CCG on provision of healthcare across the Fylde Coast.
Healthwatch Blackpool is the local independent "consumer champion" for health and social care, set up to help people who use services influence how they are planned and run and to help people make informed choices about the health and social care options available to them.
Blackpool Wyre and Fylde Council for Voluntary Services are a registered charity working with groups and organisations across the voluntary, community and faith sector, to ensure that Blackpool, Wyre and Fylde has thriving, strong communities, providing opportunities to build capacity and enhance the effectiveness of the sector.
Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the major hospital in the town and serves a population of 440,000 which spans Blackpool, Wyre, Fylde, Lancashire, South Cumbria and the North of England.
Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust provides health and wellbeing services for a population of around 1.4million people. The services include community services - health visiting, podiatry, sexual health, inpatient and community mental health services.
Lancashire Constabulary is one of the top performing police forces in the country, serving a population of 1.5million people.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue provide fire and rescue services on behalf of Lancashire Combined Fire Authority, serving a population of 1.5million people from 39 fire stations across the county.
NHS England is a non-departmental public body of the Department for Health and oversees the budget, planning, delivery and the day to day operation of the NHS. NHS England is responsible for directly commissioning primary care and specialised services. Locally. NHS England regional teams work with Clinical Commissioning Groups to ensure the commissioning of high quality health services and are represented on Health and Wellbeing Boards.
