Climbing courses

Active Blackpool offer climbing courses and 1-1 tuition for both adults and children.

Pay and play courses

Adult and Junior (ages 5 to 17) pay and play courses can be booked online and is for all abilities including complete beginners. Due to COVID-19 adult climbers will climb on an auto belay or one to one with an instructor to ensure no mixing between participants.

You must pre book your sessions online or via the Active Blackpool app. You must hold a leisure card or membership to be able to book into these sessions. You can sign up for a leisure card or membership online or Book a tour appointment with a membership advisor. Please note pay and play courses are not included in the Health and Fitness membership.

Child Learn 2 Climb courses

Children follow the National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme (NICAS) programme through levels 1 to 4.

Children must be aged between 7 and 17 years and the current timing of our classes and are shown below.

Parent waiting area

You have the option to wait whilst your child is in their class and for under 8’s a parent/guardian must remain on site. Seating is limited to a one parent per child policy.

If you are staying whilst your child is in the class you must check in at reception and you must hold a leisure card or membership to be able to check in.

Once you have dropped off your child, you will need to access the waiting area on the balcony by going up in the lift situated near the exit of the building. Please do not move the seating as it has been spaced 2 meters apart.

1-1 Tuition

We offer 1-1 tuition for adults and juniors of all abilities including complete beginners.
