The petition to decide whether Scott Benton, the MP for Blackpool South should lose his seat as an MP, and a by-election held to decide who would be the MP for that constituency, has been terminated early.
The petition started as Scott Benton MP, had been suspended from sitting in the House of Commons for a period of 35 days for breaching the code of conduct for MPs.
The petition started from 8.00am on Tuesday 12 March 2024 and was terminated at 5.00pm on Monday 25 March 2024 as the conditions for termination have been met namely that the Blackpool South seat has been vacated by disqualification.
