Parents of the Revolution (POR)
Parents of the Revolution (POR) is a warm and welcoming peer support group for parents and carers in Blackpool. It's a space to relax, have a chat over a cup of tea, and connect with others who understand the ups and downs of family life.
We host informal coffee and chat sessions at venues across the town, offering a non-judgmental environment filled with tea, coffee, snacks, activities and most importantly, friendly faces.
Who we are
We’re a group of parents and carers with lived experience of the everyday challenges that Blackpool families face. This includes experience of services such as:
- Children’s Social Care
- SEND (Special educational needs and disabilities)
- Mental health support
- Education and schools
Our aim is to reduce isolation, build supportive relationships, and help parents feel more connected and confident.
What to expect
At each session, you can expect:
- A friendly, relaxed environment
- Peer-to-peer support and conversation
- Activities and refreshments
- Updates on local co-production work
