Since launching in July 2023, Blackpool Family Hubs has seen over 10,000 people through the doors to access the range of free services and fun sessions available.
Children who used the hubs since the launch are now also turning two, making this year an extra special celebration.
To combine the two milestones, local families were invited to ‘Now you’re two’ coffee mornings throughout the month of July. Photo backdrops with caps and gowns were available for families to use as their child graduated from the Start for Life offer, which is a range of services in the first 1,001 days of a child’s life.
Located across north, central and south Blackpool, Blackpool Family Hubs provide easy access to a range of services under one roof including Better Start Blackpool, Citizens Advice, plus a range of NHS services.
The Central Family Hub is located on Gorton Street, North Family Hub on Dingle Avenue, and South Family Hub is inside Palatine Leisure Centre on St Anne's Road.
As of September 2025, there will be more than 50 sessions accessible across the Family Hub network. All fun sessions on offer are inclusive and equipped for children with special educational needs and disabilities, with specific SEND sessions available for those who prefer a quieter environment.
To simplify the offer, Blackpool Family Hubs recently launched a new campaign across bus shelters and social media, ‘Learn, Play, Support, Brew’ which aims to signpost residents to the online timetable.
Cllr Jim Hobson, Blackpool Council Cabinet Member for Children's Services said:
The summer timetable will run until the end August and is available to collect from any of the three hubs.
