The young people are part of Blackpool Council’s local DFN Project SEARCH scheme which is part of a national charity that supports young adults with learning disabilities and/or autism to secure meaningful permanent employment.

Through Project SEARCH young adults develop key employability skills by experiencing three work placements at a variety of local businesses across Blackpool.

Over 100 people have been supported in Blackpool since Project SEARCH started in the town in 2014.

Alfie Smith and Cameron Twigden are just two of the latest graduates that have been developing skills at Blackpool Sports Centre, The Westgrove Group, Claremont Hotel and Holiday Inn. Both exceeded and demonstrated their talent in their roles and now have successfully gained employment with Active Blackpool, Blackpool Council.

Cameron, said:
