The three teams set to compete in this year's championship have now been announced, with Wales, South Africa and Germany all returning to the resort to battle it out for the prestigious title.

Each of this year's competitors has previously claimed victory in Blackpool, setting the stage for three spectacular evenings of world-class pyrotechnic entertainment set against the backdrop of the famous Blackpool Illuminations.

Saturday 12 September – Wales

Celtic Fireworks

Celtic Fireworks last competed in Blackpool in 2022, when they overcame challenging weather conditions to claim first place with a breathtaking display choreographed to a soundtrack celebrating iconic Welsh music.

Saturday 26 September – South Africa

Fireworks for Africa

Recognised as one of the continent's leading special effects and fireworks specialists, Fireworks for Africa previously wowed audiences and judges alike when they took the championship crown in 2017.

Saturday 10 October – Germany

Haupt Feuerwerke

Originally invited to compete in 2020, Haupt Feuerwerke's debut was delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic. When the team finally took to the skies above Blackpool in 2021, they delivered a dazzling display that secured first place.

"The championships offer the perfect opportunity to experience two of Blackpool's greatest attractions in one visit, with the spectacular Illuminations providing a backdrop to these fantastic displays."
