New collection days from 20 April 2026
As we move from fortnightly to three‑weekly bin collections and introduce weekly food waste collections, many residents will have a new collection day (for example you may change from a Monday to a Wednesday). Here’s what you need to know:
- Residents will have a three-weekly collection cycle for grey-lid, blue-lid and brown-lid bins
- Some households will have a one-off grey-lid bin collection to bridge the gap from the old to new schedule, full information can be found below
- Food waste collections will take place weekly
- No changes for households on red sack collections
- Green and Go (garden waste) collections remain fortnightly for subscribers

One-off grey-lid bin collection for some households
With the switch from two‑weekly to three‑weekly collections, some households won’t match up smoothly with the new timetable at first. To avoid any disruption, we have arranged a one-off grey-lid bin collection for those affected to bring you in line with the 3-weekly cycle going forward.
This will be included in the new schedule that is available online - this may be different to your usual collection day. Households affected will also be contacted directly by letter over the next few weeks.
Think something is not right with your collection dates?
If you have read all the information above, and still think there is an error with your collection schedule, please complete this form and a member of the waste team will be in touch.
