JustUz war against words!

The Justuz Children in Care Council are setting all the workers in children services a big challenge. They are asking them to stop speaking to you in social work language and speak to you the way they talk to their family and friends.

So to help get them started they have banned some key words that they tend to use alot and use every day language to describe them instead!

The banned words are:

Contact

So instead we are asking them to say ... you are going to see your mum or going to see nana, daddy or we are making plans for you to see your family.

Placement

So instead we are asking them to say.... your home, Where you live.

Siblings

So instead we are asking them to say ... your brothers and sisters.

LAC ...... Please dont describe us as LAC

So instead we are asking them to say ..... Our children or just call you by your name.

Stat visit

So instead we are asking them to say..... they are coming to see you or need to arrange to come and see how you are doing.

The LAC review

If we arent saying LAC then we cant have a LAC review... so instead we are asking them to say ... its your meeting or your review meeting

We are going to need everyone's help to make this change happen. As well as asking workers , foster cares and you to stop using these words we also need you to challenge the people you hear using them.... Tell then about our war against words and lets see if together we can make the change.

If you think there are other words that should be on the banned list. Then please get intouch and let us know.
