Christmas opening times and bin collections

There will be some changes to regular collections over the Christmas and new year period.

Normal collections will resume on Monday 5 January 2026.

Bispham tip

The tip (Household Waste Recycling Centre) and the Re-use Shop will be closed:

• Christmas Eve
• Christmas Day
• Boxing Day
• New Year's Eve
• New Years Day

Other waste services

The Rover and Bulky Matters collection service will finish operations on Friday 22 December 2025 and commence again on Monday 5 January 2026.  

Christmas tree collection

This year, Trinity Hospice is once again collecting used Christmas trees.

Collections will run between Friday 9 January and Sunday 11 January 2026 covering the following postcode areas:

• FY1
• FY2
• FY3
• FY4
• FY5
• FY6
• FY7
• FY8
• PR4

90% of profits will support the hospice and a further 10% being donated to other local charities.

You can book your collection between 15 November 2025 and 5 January 2026.

The last Customer First appointments will be on Wednesday 24 December 2025.

Telephone lines will close at 5.00pm on Wednesday 24 December 2025 and reopen at 9.00am on Friday 2 January 2026.

If your normal payment is due on Thursday 18 December 2025 payments will be released as follows:

• BACS payments ‐ This payment will credit your bank account as normal on Thursday 18 December 2025

If your normal payment is due on Thursday 25 December 2025 payments will be released as follows:

• BACS payments –This payment will credit your bank account as normal on Wednesday 24 December 2025

If your normal payment is due on Thursday 1 January 2026 payments will be released as follows:

• BACS payments – This payment will credit your bank account as normal on Wednesday 31 December 2025

Common Edge will open as normal on Tuesday 23 December and will then be closed until Friday 2 January 2026.
