Hypnotism licence

If you wish to show, demonstrate or perform a hypnotism act in public, you must have authorisation from the local authority. Blackpool Council strictly controls the issue of permits for stage hypnotism and each individual application is considered on its own merits.

Consent to perform hypnotism

You must apply at least 28 days prior to any performance.

Download and complete the hypnotism application form {PDF 98KB] and return with the fee as stated on the form. Alternatively you can apply online.

Whilst each application will be determined on its own merits, applications that cause concern will be referred to the Public Protection Sub-Committee for consideration. Conditions will apply to any consent given.

Tacit consent

Tacit consent applies. This means that you will be able to act as though your application is granted if you have not heard from us by the end of the target completion period.

Complaints

• Consumer complaint: We would always advise that in the event of a complaint the first contact is made with the trader by you - preferably in the form of a letter (with proof of delivery). If that has not worked, if you are located in the UK, Citizens Advice Consumer Service can give you advice. From outside the UK contact the European Consumer Centre for Services
• Other redress: Complaints about the operation of the premises should be directed to Blackpool Council Licensing Service
