Club permit

Members’ clubs, commercial clubs and miners’ welfare institutes can apply for permits to have gaming machines or allow facilities for gaming at the premises.

Club machine permits can be applied for by members’ clubs, miners’ welfare institutes and commercial clubs. They allow up to 3 gaming machines of categories B4, C or D, but no other form of gaming.

Club gaming permits can be applied for by members’ clubs or miners’ welfare clubs only (not by commercial clubs). They allow up to 3 gaming machines of categories B4, C or D, plus equal chance gaming. Gaming is equal chance when the chances of winning are equally favourable to all participants and it does not include staking against a bank – for example, poker.
