The Health Visiting Service supports and educates families from pregnancy and birth to when the child starts school. Health visitors work with all parents to assess the support they need and create programmes to help give children the best possible start in life.

This may include:
  • Offering support with parenting and advice on health and minor illnesses
  • Advising on feeding, weaning and dental health
  • Undertaking developmental assessments
  • Providing families with specific support when required e.g. with post natal depression
