Libraries and opening times

Current opening hours

Due to ongoing local concerns around COVID-19 transmission rates, Blackpool Library service is currently operating the following temporary opening hours:

Anchorsholme Library

Monday to Thursday between 10.00am and 4.00pm
Saturday between 10.00am and 1.00pm

Central Library

Tuesday, Wednesday between 9.00am and 5.00pm
Thursday between 9.00am and 7.00pm
Saturday between 10.00am and 4.00pm

Layton Library

Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10.00am and 4.00pm
Saturday between 10.00am and 1.00pm

Library@the grange

Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 4.00pm

Mereside Library

Monday and Tuesday between 10.00am and1.00pm

Thursday and Friday between 1.00pm and 5.00pm

Moor Park

Monday, Thursday and Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm
Saturday between 10.00am and 4.00pm

Palatine Library

Monday, Tuesday and Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm
Saturday between 10.00am and 4.00pm

Revoe Library

Monday, Tuesday and Friday between 1.00pm and 5.00pm
Wednesday between 10.00am and 1.00pm

Library users are able to:

  • Access computer/printing and copying facilities
  • Browse and borrow items
  • Collect pre-ordered books at the door (if you prefer)

For those visiting the library, there will be still some necessary measures in place, including:

  • Hand sanitising on entry and exit
  • Reduced visitor capacity
  • Limited time on library computers (for 1 hour per person per day; in order so that we can manage capacity)
  • Use of protective screens at counters and around computer terminals
  • Customers will also continue to be asked to provide contact details to assist with the NHS Test and Trace programme

Information is available in a number of different media and formats including books, large print, newspapers and periodicals, spoken word cassettes and CDs and 24/7 online reference resources including encyclopaedias and dictionaries.
