Charging times and types
The charging time for your electric vehicle depends on several factors, including:
- The type of charger used
- The size and health of your vehicle's battery
- The amount of charge required
Different chargers offer varying speeds:
- Rapid charging: Provides around 80% charge in under one hour
- Fast charging: Takes 4 to 6 hours for a full charge
Please note that your vehicle can only charge at the maximum rate it can accept. For instance, if your vehicle's maximum charge rate is 7kW, it will not charge faster on a 22kW charge point.
Parking during charging
When using council-operated sites, make sure to have a valid pay and display ticket, parking permit, or have an active session in the Pay by Phone app while your vehicle is charging.
Once the charging is complete, please remove your vehicle from the charging bay as per the usage terms specified for each site.
