Rideability - door to door community transport
Rideability is a wheelchair accessible minibus service for vulnerable people living in Blackpool who are unable to use public transport for a variety of reasons.
The service operates on Mondays to Saturdays: 8.00am to 4.00pm and can be used for journeys in the Blackpool area.
Trips into neighbouring areas may be able to be accommodated depending upon service capacity.
Membership
It is free to become a member of Rideability. Call us on 01253 476668. You'll need to have your contact details and your NoWcard to hand when registering.
If you are a wheelchair user, a member of our team will need to come out to visit you and conduct an assessment. This is to make sure that you can use your wheelchair safely as a seat on our transport.
Please note that we are unable to transport mobility scooters.
Using the service
To book a journey, call the office team on 01253 476668 with details of the journey that you'd like to make.
You can request one off- journeys, for example for medical appointments or can ask for regular bookings.
Whilst we will try our best to fit in trip requests, we cannot guarantee that we can meet every request.
Booking with as much notice as possible will help us to arrange your transport needs.
Fares
There is a cost per journey for using the Rideability service payable in cash as you travel.
Concessions apply and the price depends on the type of NoWcard you have.
- Disabled pass £1 per journey
- Over 60s pass £2.40 per journey
Travelling with a carer
Carers can travel with you. Please tell us when requesting a booking that you have a carer.
Please note that unless carers hold their own NoWcard, they will need to pay a fee for this journey. Please phone the office for more details.
