Article 4 Direction - HMO

The Council is introducing a new Article 4 Direction that will apply to the entire borough. The Direction will remove permitted development rights that allow dwelling houses (a C3 planning use) to convert into small houses in multiple occupancy (HMOs, a C4 planning use) without the need for planning permission.

The Order was sealed on 1^st October 2021 and confirmed on 23^rd February 2022.

The Direction will come into force on 3^rd October 2022.
