Notice pursuant to Schedule 3, paragraph 1 of the making of an Article 4 Direction

Relating to Demolition of and Exterior Painting of Locally Listed Buildings

 

Notice is hereby given by Blackpool Borough Council (“the Council”), being the appropriate local planning authority, that it has made an Article 4(1) Direction on23 day of FEBRUARY 2022 under Article 4(1) of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015, as amended (“the Order”). The Direction applies to properties and or structures within the Locally Listed Building locations listed in the Second Schedule of the Direction and shown in the locations edged red for identification purposes on the individual Plans in the Third Schedule as attached to the Direction. 

The Direction relates to the type of development, which is contained in the First Schedule, and removes permitted development rights for these types of development from the date when the Direction comes into force.  Once the Direction is in force planning permission will therefore be required for development comprised within the First Schedule as it applies to properties within the Locally Listed Building locations which are identified in the Second Schedule of the Direction and as shown for identification purposes edged red on the individual plans which are contained in the Third Schedule of the Direction. 

A copy of the Direction, including the Locally Listed building Locations and individual Plan defining the area covered, can be viewed on the Council’s website and at the Council’s Customer First, Municipal Buildings, Corporation Street, Blackpool between the hours of 9.30am and 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday. A copy is also available to be viewed during its opening hours at the following locations: 

  • Blackpool Central Library, Queen Street, Blackpool, FY1 1PX.
  • Bickerstaffe Reception 1 Bickerstaffe Square, Talbot Road, Blackpool, FY1 3AH . 

Representations concerning the Direction can be made to the Council on and between Wednesday 23 February 2022 and Wednesday 20 April 2022 at 5.00pm. If you wish to make representations the Council would prefer these to be made by email, sent to builtheritage@blackpool.gov.uk. If you would like to send representations by post the address is: Conservation and Built Heritage Team, Blackpool Borough Council, 81C Church Street, Blackpool, FY1 1HU. 

Representations must be received by the Council by 5.00pm on Wednesday 20 April 2022 and should include your name, postal and email address. 

Please note that the Council may consider all representations received in public and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection. It is proposed that the Direction will come into force on Friday 24 February 2023 subject to consideration of any representations received during the consultation period and the Direction being confirmed by the Council.
