The Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) was adopted by Blackpool Council on 10th July 2023. The SPD provides guidance on the requirements for affordable housing in new housing developments in Blackpool, including conversions. It explains why affordable housing is required and how it should be delivered, expanding on planning policy in the Blackpool Local Plan.
Any person with sufficient interest in the decision to adopt the SPD may apply to the High Court for permission to apply for judicial review of that decision. Any such application must be made promptly and in any event not later than three months after the date on which the SPD was adopted.
The SPD, consultation statement summarising the main issues raised during the formal consultation period and how these were addressed, and a copy of this Adoption Statement can be viewed on the Council's website at www.blackpool.gov.uk/affordablehousing
