DFN Project SEARCH, Blackpool, is a one-year work based supported internship programme for students aged 16 to 24 with an education, health and care plan. Its primary objective is to secure competitive employment for young people with learning disabilities, and or autism.
It is targeted for those whose goal is competitive employment. The programme takes place within various work settings, where total immersion into the workplace facilitates the teaching and learning process, as well as the acquisition of employability and marketable work skills.
Interns participate in three internships to explore a variety of career paths working with a team that includes; their family, tutors and job coaches to create an employment goal.
