If you operate a premises where certain goods are sold by way of competitive bidding you are required to be registered with the council. Auction Rooms are registered under the County of Lancashire Act 1984.

Download and complete the application form [PDF 106KB] and return with the fee as stated on the form (this is a one-off payment). Plans should be sent with the application. 



Following consultation with various departments, including the police, applications may then be referred to the council’s public protection committee for grant or refusal.

Once granted the registration stays in force unless the premises are vacated at which point it will cease to have effect.
