Kickstart Scheme

We are helping local young people into work via the government’s Kickstart Scheme, which provides funding to create job placements for 16 to 24-year-olds on Universal Credit who are at risk of long-term unemployment.

Pastoral and employment support is provided by Kickstart coaches, as well as our Adult Learning team. Every person taking part in the scheme receives guidance throughout the process, covering topics such as:

  • Confidence building
  • Teamwork
  • CV and application writing

Some local employers are likely to be able to offer a more permanent job at the end of each placement, but where this isn’t possible our Kickstart coaches will offer ongoing support to help you find your next job.

Current vacancies

The latest Kickstart vacancies are listed below. If you are aged between 16 and 24 and receiving Universal Credit, you should speak to your JCP work coach to find out how to apply.
