If your child was born between 1 September 2013 and 31 August 2014, he/she should start school in September 2018.

This provides you with essential information on the process of applying for a school/academy, and the criteria that is used to allocate places. You need to apply for a place at a primary school, even if your child attends a nursery that is attached to the school.
The online admissions for the primary school year starting September 2018 opened on the 5 September 2017.
The closing date for primary applications was 15 January 2018. If you have missed the deadline you should complete a paper application which is available from the Blackpool Council School Admissions Team, telephone 01253 476637. An application submitted after the closing date will be classed as late.
The national offer date is Monday 16 April 2018.
If you applied online, your offer will be available to view through this link on Monday 16 April 2018. If you applied on a paper form, you will receive a letter on 16 April 2018.
If you are happy with the offered school, you do not need to do anything as the school will contact you within the next few weeks.
If you would like to appeal for a school, you can download the relevant appeal form from the Appeal page on this website. Please ensure that you complete the correct appeal form. Voluntary Aided schools are church schools, so require their own form to be completed.
Guidance and information
Voluntary aided (church) school/academy
You may be required to complete a supplementary information form and/or provide a copy of your child's baptismal certificate. Please contact the school/academy directly to find out about their admission criteria.
If you move house once you have submitted your application, you will need to provide proof of your new address to the Blackpool school admissions team as soon as possible.
Applying for an independent or special school
If you are applying for an independent (fee paying) school, you must apply directly to the school. If your child needs to access a place at a special school, this will be arranged by the SEN team.
