Elections will be held to elect 42 councillors for all 21 Blackpool Council wards on Thursday 4 May 2023.

Voting in the election

Your ward

The ward in which you are eligible to vote is shown on the polling card that all people registered to vote will receive. You can also identify your ward by visiting our ward mapPlease note:  Some ward boundaries will be changing for this election.

Registering to vote

The deadline to register to vote for these elections in 17 April 2023. You can check your registration by telephone 01253 477490 or 01253 477161. 

Postal vote

If you wish to apply for a postal vote for this election all applications must be received by 5.00pm on 18 April 2023. The deadline to apply for a replacement postal vote is 5.00pm on Thursday 4 May 2023.

Proxy vote

If you wish to apply to vote by proxy at this election all applications must be received by 5.00pm on 25 April 2023. The deadline to apply for an emergency proxy vote is 5.00pm on Thursday 4 May 2023.

Voter ID

The UK Government has introduced a requirement for voters to show photo ID when voting at a polling station at some elections. This new requirement will apply for the first time in England at the local elections on Thursday 4 May 2023. More information on voter id requirements

The deadline to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate if you don't already have an acceptable form of ID is 5.00pm on 25 April 2023
