Bulky Matters is a partnership between us and the charity Furniture Matters, which aims to transform Blackpool's bulky waste into a reusable resource to benefit the community.
The service is available to residential addresses only*. Collections can be booked for a morning, afternoon or an evening with a choice of a number of collection slots. There are also some weekend slots available. Wherever possible, items will be collected from inside your home as this increases the chance of the item being re-used.
The service collects the following household items:
- Furniture, including bed frames and mattresses
- Soft furnishings
- Domestic electrical appliances
- Kitchen items
- ICT equipment
- Toys/games and bicycles

These will then be distributed to local people therefore reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill and helping those who need support.
Cost of service
For online bookings there is a minimum charge of £19.50 for up to 3 items. Additional items are charged at £6.50 each.
The service is run on an appointment only basis so you will be able to choose the day and time of your collection.
In certain circumstances we are able to add additional items to your booking or make amendments to the scheduled collection. Please complete the call-back request and a member of our team will contact you to discuss your requirements. There may be an additional charge to add extra items.
* For hotels and guest houses we are able to collect from the residential element of your property as long as council tax is paid.
