Queueing and getting rid of your waste safely
Traffic management will remain in place:
- Face coverings to be worn when visiting the site, whilst out of the vehicle. It is recognised that this is open space but communication and advice from site staff may reduce Covid secure distances
- Only 2 persons per vehicle to be permitted to leave the vehicle, to reduce the risk of potential incidents on site
- Whilst queuing, either inside or outside of the tip, please stay in your car at all times with your windows closed
- On arrival, please stay in your vehicle until you are directed to reverse into a bay by a member of staff
- You must be able to lift and dispose of the rubbish yourself with anyone accompanying you
- Staff will not be able to help you with your waste
- If you must bring children with you, they should stay in the car at all times
- Vans and trailers must attend the tip no later than 30 minutes before the site closes, or they will be turned away
Tip Shop
The Tip Shop is currently open.
- A maximum of 3 customers in the shop at any one time
- Face coverings must be worn
- A maximum shopping time of 15 minutes per visit
- Track and trace information is recorded
Restrictions
- No sign written vehicles will be allowed on site
- Only cars may attend at the weekend – no vans or trailers are permitted during this time
- The tip is open to Blackpool residents only. If you pay your Council Tax to Fylde then you will have to use their HWRC site on Saltcotes Road, Lytham - FY8 4LS. If you pay your Council Tax to Wyre then you will have to use their HWRC site on Jameson Road, Fleetwood – FY7 8TW. Please bring proof of address with you when you visit the site to make sure you're not turned away
- Commercial waste is not allowed. Businesses have a duty of care and must have a registered waste carrier disposing of their waste at a registered waste disposal facility
- Some vehicles will need to purchase a permit and others will not be allowed on site so it is recommended you check the permit scheme list before visiting the tip
- Some materials are not allowed to be brought onto the site and you may need a permit to dispose of others so before you visit the tip it is recommended you check the waste restrictions list.

Private waste contractors
If you choose to use a private waste collector to get rid of any rubbish whilst the tip operation is restricted, you have a legal duty to check that the person or business is a registered waste carrier.
If you don’t check, you could be fined if your rubbish is found to be illegally dumped somewhere. You can check their vehicle registration online.
